Remy hair is a superior human hair grade that is collected from a hair donor. The cuticle layer of the hair remains in tack, therefore the hair is silky soft with a subtle wave pattern. The hair is then hand-tied to a wig in the same direction as it is on a human head. The look of the wig is very natural, easy to manage and does not tangle.
What color lace is best suited to my skin tone?
The color of lace depends on a lot of factors. First and foremost, the best applications are usually camouflaged by makeup at the hairline and where the hair is parted. This is truly how you get a natural appearance because even though lace blends with the skin, certain lighting conditions can show the lace.
Most women prefer to get a lace close to their skin tone, this is the best option if you don't want to experiment with using makeup (concealer) to camouflage the lace, then it's best to select a shade that blends with your skin tone. If you plan to use makeup, then you should select a shade close to, or lighter than, your own.
Our standard lace colors

Bleached knots is currently to best method of making the hair appear as if it is growing from your scalp. If you do not have bleached knots you will see a dark dot on the skin, however, bleached knots does not mean the knot is totally bleached out. Usually the knots are just a shade lighter than the rest of the hair. If the knots are single knots at the hairline you do not need to bleach the knots, dabbing foundation based powder on the knots with a brush; bleached or not helps hide them as well.
We recommend using knot sealer to seal your knots on the underside of your wig. Just flip your wig inside out and be sure to protect the remaining hair with a plastic bag. Spray a light spray of knot sealer on the knots of lace wig cap.
How can I prevent my lace wig from shedding/loosing hair?

All new lace wigs have a strip of bare lace at the front or around the perimeter that needs to be trimmed away. Use sharp hair scissors to trim the lace away, HOWEVER, make sure to leave a 1/8" – 1/4" (see below for a guide) strip of bare lace ahead of the actual hairline. Having the bare lace in front means that if the lace begins to fray a little, you will not lose hair at the hairline. When it is attached, that small strip of lace disappears against your skin. The following diagram is approximatly 1 inch, not exact, but this will give you an idea of how much lace to leave around the perimeter:

a = 1/8; b = 2/8 = 1/4
However, some people cut off all the lace to the hairline.
How do I wash my lace wig?
First, place unit on waterproof wig stand. Apply pre-shampoo on dry hair, work in gently, rinse with warm water, then apply mild shampoo. When applying shampoo keep wig stand in upright position, while gently working shampoo in. Do not bunch hair up while lathering and avoid circular motions, which can cause tangling of the hair. Comb hair gently with fingertips. Rinse hair thoroughly and follow with a deep or daily conditioner, applying the same way. Let stand, for 2-3 minutes to moisturize and condition. You can gently comb hair with a wide tooth comb to remove any tangles. Rinse conditioner out completely , pat hair dry and apply maintenance spray for an all day protection. After washing, try to remove as much water as possible by squeezing the hair with your fingers. Allow wig to completely air dry on a dry towel or wire stand. Once wig is dry, style as usual. Note: for synthetic wigs, DO NOT apply heat or place near a heated source, including in the sun!!
Can I wear my lace wig in a ponytail?
What is the best cap design for me?
Each person has their own specific design needs based on their life-style and how undetectable they want their unit to be. The finer the lace, the less detectable however the less durable, especially with daily adhesives. Thin Skin is less detectable to the eye but a bit more detectable to touch than lace.
We ONLY use 100% Premium human Remy hair when creating your Premium Human Remy Hair Lace Units. We now offer 100% Toyokalon (synthetic fiber) Lace Wigs however we NEVER mix the synthetic hair with the Premium Remy hair. Some factories try to cut costs by using much cheaper materials so they can sell a “real” product at a cheaper price,...unbeknownst to their clients. Please do your research and keep in mind that you get what you pay for. And we in no way try to mislead our clients by thinking they are getting something “real” for half the price
How to Apply A Lace Frontal
Step: 1
Proper Scalp Preparation Instructions Cleaning and preparing your scalp before you attach your hair frontal is essential to a secure bond. Follow the instructions below carefully to ensure your hair frontal is properly attached. Begin by wiping all visible traces of sweat or oil from the scalp with a wet towel or cloth. For best results hop into the shower and wash your entire head, hair and scalp thoroughly at least two times.
While showering, thoroughly scrub your scalp and hair After showering, be sure to fully dry your head and scalp with a towel and/or blow dryer, removing all excess moisture. This would also be a good time to remove or shave any hair or stubble from the bonding area. We recommend using an electric screen razor for the closest shave.
Step: 2
Find Your Hairline Shake the hair out and comb any lose hair back that is around the front hairline. Place the hairpiece on the head and position along the hairline for a natural look. Important. After you found your desired hairline, you will now cut the lace. Gradually trim the excess lace one layer at a time until you are satisfied with the hairline you want. Be careful not to cut any of the hair.
Step: 3
Apply Lace Frontal
Prep your hair, by creating a flat surface for the frontal to sit on.
Fit the frontal on your head, and evaluate how and where you would like the hairline. The goal is to find where the hairline will look most natural.
After you have created your hairline, apply tapes or adhesive to around the edges of the hairline so the frontal can stay on your head.
The finished hairline should look totally natural, as if the hair were actually growing from your scalp.
If you want to use the frontal for a front hairpiece for weaves or covering bald areas, use the same steps for applying, just use the tape or adhesive around the entire edges.
These frontal can be sown to your own hair. Tip! These frontal can be cut to size and position on any area where hair is needed.
How to Remove a Lace Frontal
Separate any hair that has been comb in with the frontal
Apply the lace adhesive remover around perimeter of frontal.
Gradually remove the lace frontal.
Be sure After you have removed the lace, there may be some residue left on the unit, you should shampoo the unit, and with a towel, delicately scrub the residue away.
You should let the frontal dry naturally
Absolutely! Depending on climate and lifestyle, your wig should be washed every 8-10 wears or at least once every week, if worn daily. Before washing, you must detangle wig using a detangler (or diluted conditioner) and wire brush. Start detangling from ends to root to prevent breakage. Immerse wig in cool to warm (not hot) water using a gentle shampoo (do not rub!). Allow wig to soak for a few minutes and remove. Squeeze out excess water or towel dry without rubbing or twisting. Apply conditioner and rinse, if desired.
Wig Care (Human Hair)
Our wigs made from human hair are of the highest quality and, when properly cared for, will give you plenty of enjoyable wear. Just follow the instructions below to get the maximum life-span and performance from your wig.
Washing
Human hair wigs should be washed in cool to luke-warm water with a mild shampoo and conditioner. (Using conditioner is highly recommended to reduce tangling.) Do not scrub the wig, just swish it from side to side and dunk it up and down. Wigs should be hung to dry. (Human hair wigs may also be set when wet. See Styling below.)
Once dry, spray sheen or detangling spray onto the wig and comb or brush depending on the type of wig you have (See Combing and Brushing below).
Setting
Human hair wigs can be set quite easily by following these instructions:
Styling
Hot tools may be used on human hair wigs. Hot blow driers, curling irons, flat irons and similar tools may be used in the same way as they would on your regular hair. Most wig caps are designed to be unaffected by heat. Additional care must be taken when styling a wig with a skin-like cap as the plastic in the cap material can melt under heat.
If wig hair gets frizzy, try any sheen spray or wig spray to calm the frizziness and then comb. If not, wash then set with setting lotion to get the frizziness out. When wigs are tangled, use any detangling or sheen spray then comb the hair.

Hair Products
Any hair products can be used on wigs, such as hair spray, mousse, gel, etc. since the wigs are washable and reusable.
Wig Storage
While wigs are not in use, they may be stored in a hair net and plastic bag or on a wig stand, such as styrofoam head.
When traveling, a styled wig may be carried in a wig box to prevent flattening.
- After washing, comb the hair (as instructed below) then set in rollers with rolling papers and setting lotion
- Put the wig under a sitting hair drier on low heat for 40 to 50 minutes. If you do not have access to a sitting drier, the wig may be left on a wig stand or styrofoam head overnight or until completely dried.
Once dry, take out the rollers and style the wig as desired.
Can I part my wig anywhere?
There are several different options you can choose when ordering a custom lace wig.
- Freestyle (part anywhere)
- Center Part
- Left side Part
- Righ side Part
If you choose the "Freestyle (part anywhere) option you will be able to part your lace wig anywhere.
If you choose you we can also create the wig to have a natural part in the center, left or right side.
We do not make a "bald part" like some wig makers, where there is a severe parting and no hair to form the part in a straight line. This looks very unnatural.
Rather what we do is hand knot each individual strand of hair in particular direction that creates a "natural" part. You will still be able to part your hair in other directions, however after shaking the lace wig, you will notice that it will naturally fall according to the part direction you have chosen.
What is widow's peak or natural hairline?
A "natural" hairline is commonly referred to as a "straight" hairline. Where the hair grows out of your scalp in a straight area above your forhead.
A widow's peak, "M shaped hairline" or "Pointed Hairline" is where the your front hairline makes the shape of an "M" or comes down in a point above your forehead.

What Kind of Knots should I order?
Knotting for hair systems is extremely technical and is in itself a vocational discipline. It is wise for you to allow our experts to make these choices. The specific ventilation and knotting technique can vary greatly depending on the style requirements.
What are bleached knots and why are they used?
For each single hair that is tied to the lace material, the pigment is removed from the knot to make them less visible.
Can I have bleached knots if my hair and skin are dark colored?
Yes, bleaching the knot will cause it to lose most of its color and become nearly translucent. However, you can only have bleached knots when you are wearing a full lace or lace front hair system..
Can you match my hair if I'm African-American?

What is Remy hair?
Remy Hair is human hair, but it is handled and processed much differently. First, Remy uses only the finest quality and most beautiful human hair in the world. Secondly, Remy hair is cut from the head and specially tagged "root end first" and throughout the entire manufacturing process, the hair is carefully kept in order. This process eliminates common problems normally associated with all other human hair systems such as tangling, matting, dullness, feel, and especially strength.
With the traditional manufacturing process the cuticle layer (outer layer) of the hair is the cause of the above problems. When the hair is examined under a microscope the cuticle layer looks like the bark of a palm tree and when the hair gets wet the shaft swells and the cuticle opens creating "horny barks."
Through the normal manufacturing process the hair is blended, hackled, and ventilated. This process leaves the hair cuticle going in opposite directions and unless the it's removed through an acid bath it will tangle and matte when wet.
The acid bath which cannot totally remove the cuticle degrades the hair shaft and leaves it weaker and brittle, which eventually causes breakage and hair loss. Without the cuticle layer the hair will reflect light slightly different than growing hair with the cuticle layer in tact. Also, hair without the cuticle layer intact will oxidize (change color) aster than hair with the cuticle.
With your own natural, growing hair all the cuticles are facing up, in the same direction, which prevents the tangling and matting problems when the hair is wet.
The cuticle layer of the hair will be left in tact and all cuticles will be lying in the same direction when the hair system is complete.
Can you put highlights in my hair system?
Absolutely, we recommend color graduation in every hair system for a more natural look. If you really examine most people’s natural growing head of hair you’ll notice that only rarely does a person have the exact same color throughout their head. Most times there is some level of natural color graduation.
